Introduction
SONESOCCER is a tremendously successful training and coaching organization based in Northern New Jersey, which has grown rapidly but in a controlled way, with consistent quality from top to bottom . The demand for our training and coaching services continues to far exceed what we can fit into our coaching schedules, and continues to grow. This allows us to continue to recruit high quality career coaches wanting to build a career and a life in one the in the best places to live and work in the United States. We are proud of the fact that we have the most qualified and experienced staff, providing what we are confident is the best quality of training and coaching of any organization in the area. To achieve this, we give our coaches the best opportunities and rewards of any of our competitors, allowing us to employ the best staff – and keep them. No coach has ever left
SONESOCCER, - what better advertisement could there be for a fantastic working environment and place to build a challenging and rewarding coaching career?
What We Offer…
SONESOCCER aims to recruit the best coaches, and in turn expect our staff to provide all of their teams and clubs with an outstanding soccer education experience. Therefore, your focus will be coaching, and continually staying up to date with developments in the field and updating your knowledge and qualifications to continually provide a better service to our teams . We do not require our coaches to work in an office as part of their weekly duties (although some do – developing and maintaining their own programs). As well as an unrivalled compensation package, we offer profit-sharing, full medical insurance here in the United States, and a 401K (retirement) plan which the company contributes towards, as well as providing visas, company cell phones, and contributing for flights to the UK should you choose to visit. We run our own in-service development sessions, and contribute toward the costs for staff looking to gain additional qualifications here in the United States.
The earning potential at SONESOCCER is excellent, and there is a clear career path for people with the right skills, with significant management responsibilities, and compensation packages that reflect those responsibilities. All of our existing staff have their own houses / apartments and drive their own cars (not shared company accommodation / cars), and above all have their own lives here. It is important to us as a company to be vested in the communities we work in. Therefore, we help and encourage our staff to fully enjoy an American culture that has a tremendous amount to offer, rather than simply seeking out every piece of “Britishness” that can be found here.
Given the continuity we offer, the quality of our existing staff, and the outstanding reputation that SONESOCCER has, we currently coach some of the best boys and girls teams in the state. These teams routinely travel across the country to compete in major youth soccer tournaments, a great way to see the country working. Our reputation – and that of the coaches – ensures that our staff are considered for these positions in a way that transient seasonal staff are not, which is another attraction of this company to serious coaches. Our base is team-training, not baby-sitting toddler and pre-schoolchildren - which is worth considering in choosing a place to work.
New Jersey is a great place to live – a beautiful and diverse state with something for everyone. Most of our staff live within one hour of beaches, ski-resorts, forests, state parks, and of course – New York City. Depending on how far you want to travel to your sessions, you can have at least some of these things on your doorstep, providing not only a good standard of living, but a great quality of life. Most areas provide a far greater variety of restaurants, movie theaters, recreation facilities, sports events, concerts etc than you could ever hope to exhaust, and a flexible vacation policy that allows travel opportunities from four major airports within driving distance to anywhere in the United States (or beyond…).
What We Expect…
If this sounds too good to be true – then rest assured that for most people it is. There are many, many applicants for the few coaching positions that we add each year, and only the best coaches - typically with experience in the United States – are considered. We expect consistent excellence on the field, a determination to work hard off it, and a thirst for knowledge to continually develop and update coaching skills. We seek staff who can demonstrate an ambition to work within a team environment, but develop programs and relationships that they can take ownership of.
SONESOCCER has a range of coaching staff, but they all have in common the fact that they are high quality coaches and excellent communicators both on and off the field. The minimum coaching requirement is an FA / UEFA “C” License (or equivalent), two years professional experience, and most of our staff are graduates. As role models for impressionable youth soccer players, our staff are - above all - good people, committed to making a soccer coaching career in the United States.
Please note that coaches aspiring to work at SONESOCCER should consider a minimum three year commitment. We do not offer any short-term or seasonal contracts.
(There many other places to look for individuals looking for summer work or a March to November contract).
What next?
The continuity and quality of

Also send a copy of the picture page of your passport, and a full CV / resume, with an emphasis on your soccer experience. Please also include a letter explaining why you want to work at SONESOCCER. 3. References: we will take up two coaching references
4. Personal interview and observed coaching session in the UK
5. One week visit to the United States. You will shadow coaches, do some supervised coaching with an experienced SONESOCCER coach and get a feel for the area and lifestyle. This is not a temporary position, so you need to be experience with the area, and how it is to live here, to be in a position to accept of reject any offer of employment.
In Conclusion…
The United States has a lot to offer the motivated individual, and
SONESOCCER is growing quickly, but in a strategic, and managed way. In a congested soccer training and coaching market here in New Jersey, we have worked hard to develop an excellent reputation, with a demand for our coaching services that far outstrips the supply of high quality coaches we can supply. This means that geographical areas and parts of the business need growing by people who are capable and motivated, and is why we take on new staff starting in either late-August or late March each year. This is not a short-term seasonal opportunity, or a paid vacation. This is a life-opportunity here in the United States. Our staff is relatively small, but all are good people as well as excellent coaches with a team spirit and a family environment.
If feel you have what it takes to be part of the SONESOCCER team, then get the process started by forwarding the paperwork outlined in (1) above. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us directly. E-mail is best, but you can also reach us through our London # at 0207 993-8255.
